A hypercar unlike almost anything else on the road, in specification and in rarity
Devel Motors, founded by the Al Attar family in Dubai, first conceived the Sixteen in 2006 and unveiled a raw prototype in 2013, before a 2017 Dubai Motor Show reveal cemented its reputation with a claimed 5,007hp quad-turbo 12.3L V16. Three configurations have been announced — a V8 base model, a 3,006hp V16 version, and the flagship 5,007hp track-only variant — with the first customer handover occurring in 2022. Independent analysis has since questioned whether the car's most extreme claimed figures have been fully validated, which is itself relevant to how a car like this should be insured: this is genuinely uncharted territory for underwriting.
Devel, model by model
Given the very small number of Sixteens delivered worldwide, we'd like to talk regardless of your specific configuration.
Sixteen (V8/V16/Track Configurations)
2013–Present (Prototype/Limited Delivery)
A mid-engine hypercar built around a carbon fiber monocoque, offered in three announced configurations ranging from a V8 base model up to a claimed 5,007hp quad-turbo V16 track variant. First customer deliveries began in 2022, with total production numbers remaining very small.

What published insurance data actually shows
The Highway Loss Data Institute (HLDI) — a nonprofit affiliated with the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety — publishes real collision loss statistics by vehicle series, and we cite that data on several of our other marque pages where it exists. It doesn't exist for the Devel Sixteen, and given how few cars have actually been delivered to customers worldwide, it likely won't for years, if ever. We'd rather tell you plainly that the data doesn't exist than cite a number that isn't real. What this means in practice: a Sixteen has to be underwritten individually and directly, based on the specific car's documented build and value, by a carrier willing to work with genuinely unprecedented specifications.
What carriers actually ask before they'll write coverage
Given how new and low-volume this program is, carriers will want extensive documentation: build records directly from Devel Motors, confirmed specification (V8, V16, or track variant), import and titling documentation, and a clear valuation given how unusual comparable-sales data is for a car like this. Storage and intended use — show car versus any track or road use — will also shape how coverage is structured.
Some Devel owners showcase their car. Others keep it entirely private. Both are covered correctly.
Given the Sixteen's extreme rarity and the fact that its most powerful configuration is explicitly track-only, most owners fall toward careful, event-focused use with an emphasis on secure, purpose-built storage rather than regular road use.
An independent brokerage, not a single carrier
We're not captive to one insurance company, and we're not a dealership finance office. That independence is the point: our only job is finding you the right coverage at the right price, then advocating for you if you ever need to use it.
Access to multiple carriers
We shop coverage across a range of specialty and standard carriers instead of pricing everything through one company's rate table, so you see real options instead of a single take-it-or-leave-it quote.
Bundle for a better rate
Combine your Devel with your home, everyday autos, umbrella liability, other collector vehicles, and — where it applies — your business insurance. Carriers price account relationships, and that often means meaningfully better terms across the board.
Four things a standard policy misses
Agreed value for a genuinely unprecedented car
The payout is set when you bind coverage — not renegotiated by an adjuster using a valuation guide that has no comparable sales data to draw from at all.
Import, titling & documentation support
Coverage built around the reality that bringing a car like this into the US involves import and titling steps a standard exotic-car policy doesn't anticipate.
Track-only variant coverage
For the flagship track-only configuration specifically, coverage needs to explicitly address track use rather than assume road-going operation.
Specialist transport & storage
Given the extreme rarity and value, transport and storage arrangements need to be explicitly built into the policy rather than assumed.
Get your Devel covered correctly
Tell us about your car — model, build, how you use it, and anything else worth knowing — and we'll put together agreed-value coverage shopped across multiple carriers.
